We could continue telling you about the virtues of our garments for some time, but ultimately it's only people like yourselves who have to live with a stoma and/or hernia every day who can truly appreciate the benefits of our garments.
That's why this page was created for you (the product user) to read what other wearers and nurses have to say about the products. The Waistband testimonials are lower down the page.

“ Please find enclosed another order for Comfizz underpants. Since I started wearing these I find I can't wear anything else, they are so comfortable to wear. Their two way stretch moves with my body and stoma bag allowing me to feel a bit more normal and with no seams or labels to irritate they are just the ticket. They hold my bag securely in place without restriction, and wash and dry in no time. So thanks again Comfizz for a wonderful product.” (Ostomate)
“ After surgery it was difficult to adapt to my stoma, which seemed to be working overtime. I felt self-conscious and had low self-esteem. Now I wear Comfizz stomawear my bag is held securely in place, I feel comfortable and confident again.” (Ostomate)
“ I'm 64 years old and had a stoma for 15 years. You have changed my life. I've always loved swimming, but I got embarrassed as I've got a hernia around my stoma. I wear the pants under my costume. They give me extra support for my hernia and keep my bag in place, so I can relax because I now feel normal.” (Ostomate)
“ I was
very impressed with the support garment, not only because it looks like 'normal
underwear', but also because it is soft (no seams), supportive (excellent stretch
movement) and most important holds the pouch close to the skin without any constriction.
Having a colostomy can bring with it the problems of a hernia. To find a support
garment that is beneficial for post-operative stoma patients is invaluable.
I work, as a volunteer for the British Colostomy Association and one of the
most frequently asked questions is, “How do I find a support garment that does
not press on my scars and stoma”?
While other products can be tight (for support), bulky (with fancy lace and
panels) and itchy (with strong elasticity) your fabric allows a smooth look,
support without constraint and a comfortable feel at all times.
I congratulate you on such a good product and lastly on the price. While there
are many such support garments on the market (after much research for myself
and other ostomates) I have found none that match up to your quality and price.
I'm always happy to recommend your products.”
(Ostomate and British Colostomy Association Volunteer)
“ Thank you for dispatching my order so promptly. I'm pleased to say that the briefs are more normal in appearance than most other support wear and more comfortable & lighter to wear. The breathable fabric is a boon, particularly in the warmer weather, yet there seems to be more support in the front, where it is most needed and the washing & drying time of 30mins is very good.” (Ostomate)
“ As a new stoma patient I was finding it hard to purchase a suitable garment for myself. Since I have purchased these from your company I found life so much easier. I find the look of the garment pleasing, the wash & drying in such a short time is a bonus and the seam free construction most comfortable.” (Ostomate)
“ Thank you for the boxer shorts, I'm pleased with them. It was on the advice of the stoma nurse I ordered them & everything she told me about them was true. I'm placing another order for two pairs. One of the particular things I like is the washing and drying of them in half an hour.” (Ostomate)
“ I'm only too pleased to say how comfortable I find Comfizz stomawear to wear. Already having got a hernia they do give me abdominal support, which I badly needed. I'm highly satisfied with them.” (Ostomate)
“ Thank you for your prompt service. I've had a stoma for 20months and lots of problems along the way. I've been unable to find suitable comfy underwear, even resorting to 'going combat' at times! not the best solution in windy Whitby!!! Thanks again.” (Ostomate)
“ I have lived with my ileostomy for 5yrs during which time I've tried many types of briefs. Now I am wearing Comfizz stomawear because the fabric feels so good. It's comfortable and supports my pouch keeping it secure. I also get light tummy support with this brief, which is a great-added bonus!” (Ostomate)
“ I'm happy to offer the following opinion on the seam free stoma wear that your company produces. It is extremely comfortable to wear, allowing the movement sometimes needed by the stoma pouch, whilst holding it securely in place. It offers some support to the herniated area surrounding my stoma. I do not feel that it is unsightly or necessarily anything that draws attention to my stoma when undressing. The fabric itself is very lightweight and very easy to wash and dry.” (Ostomate)
“ With regards to seam free stoma wear I'm delighted it gives excellent support, providing me with confidence. They are light and you do not feel as though you are in a girdle. They are fashionable and hold everything safely in place: quite feminine and can recommend them wholeheartedly.” (Ostomate)
“ We have
had a very favourable response from our patients regarding your seam free stoma
wear & are now finding that these garments are effective in providing support
for people who have wound or stoma hernias. Many out patients who have previously
needed a large cumbersome support garment are now using your products, finding
that these are much more comfortable, particularly during movement, allowing
greater freedom and mobility. Our patients also prefer the feel of the garment
next to their skin. The garment does not trap moisture against the skin, which
can cause skin irritation. The similarity of the garment to conventional underwear
enhances the patients' feelings of normality.
Many of the prescribed support garments are exceedingly expensive and with this
in mind we are now tending to offer patients, who need additional support, the
comfizz garments to try in the first instance rather than a heavier support
garment which would now offer a secondary measure.
Interestingly the majority of our patients are satisfied with the lighter support
garment even those who have quite substantial hernias.”
(Stoma Nurse)

“ I found the waistband a simple but effective item which can change the way you feel from support post operatively to discretely holding the bag in place under day and night wear. The fabric is lightweight and breathable and leaves you feeling cool and comfortable. It offers support and security and yet can be washed & dried within an hour.” (Secretary of Ileostomy Association)
“ In our
experience as stoma care nurses, we have found support wear and waistbands to
be of great benefit to patients and an excellent alternative to some of the
heavyweight rigid support garments that are on the market.
The waistbands allow more discretion to patients when undressing and also give
confidence during intimate moments. They are comfortable and mouldable with
the body, whilst offering a lightweight support to the abdominal muscles without
constricting the pouch.”
(Stoma Nurse)
“ I already have two waistbands and they are excellent for under swimwear and bedtime wear. The boxer shorts are now my standard underwear.” (Ostomate)
“ I am so pleased with the waistband, it reall helps to keep things in place and 'Audry' ( yes I have given my stoma a name seeing as we are going to be life long partners) doesn't seem to mind the gentle but firm support.” (Ostomate)
“ I would like to let you know how comfortable your Comfizz waistband is. I wear it all the time which I could not do with other waistbands I have tried. I wish I had your waistband from the beginning as I am sure I would not have got a hernia.” (Ostomate)
“ I find these bands a boost for my confidence and would recommend them to other stoma users as they do lessen the bulky appearance of the bag.” (Ostomate)
“ I find the waistbands very comfortable, they support me very well, find them great for swimming & very useful at night.” (Ostomate)
“ The waistband is a genius idea! I'm always conscious that with modern-cut jeans, they're quite low on the hips and I worry that the top of my ileostomy appliance might pop over the top but with the waistband on it just looked like a bit of tummy was showing.” (Ostomate)
“ Can I just say the waist bands are brilliant I wish I could have had them 14yrs ago, they have certainly given me back my confidence.” (Ostomate)
“ Thank you for your prompt attention and congratulations on an outstanding produc, something all ostimists have been searching for. Unbelievably comfortable to wear and provide much needed support for a hernia… but best of all I am no longer conscious of the “bump”. Go to the top of the class!” (Ostomate)
“ With reference to the Comfizz belt. It is without doubt the greatest asset anyone with an ileostomy could have in their quest to be “normal”. In bed I know feel as though I am sleeping naked again and as a person who holidays abroad a lot it is very cooling to wear. My main advantage is in my sport of golf where prior to Comfizz belt I had to wear a tourniquet of a garment which was very uncomfortable and restrictive. Now all I do is wear a comfizz belt under a pair of Comfizz support boxers and this gives me complete support and peace of mind. This combination also works very well while gardening. The band supports without placing constrictive pressure on the stoma therefore reducing the problem of “pancaking”.” (Ostomate)
“ Thanks for your prompt delivery. I found the waistband very comfortable. It covers up the embarrassment of the top edge of my pouch showing when wearing a short top or low rise trousers. I also think it is a must for sexually active people with a stoma.” (Ostomate)
“ In our
experience as stoma nurses, we have found Comfizz support wear and waistbands
to be of great benefit to patients and an excellent alternative to some of the
heavyweight rigid support garments that are available on the market.
The waistbands allow more discretion to patients when undressing, gives confidence
during intimate moments. They are mouldable with the body and offer lightweight
support to the abdominal muscles without constricting the stoma pouch.”
(Stoma Nurse)
“ Just to inform you that all of my patients who have used the Comfizz waistband have found them comfortable and of great benefit. The seamless construction makes it extra comfortable and the stretch capacity helps the stoma to work normally.” (Stoma Nurse)
“ I find the waistband useful for support and they smooth out your appearance. They are very good if you want to wear close fitting clothes and don't want any bulges.” (Ostomate)
“ The introduction of the waistband adds very usefully to the range. I find use when swimming a particular attraction as it is a discrete means of being able to confidently use “normal” swimming shorts. Thank you for the excellent service.” (Ostomate)
“ I found the waistband a simple but effective item which can change the way you feel, from support in post operative patients to discretely holding the bag in place under day and night wear. The fabric is lightweight and breathable and leaves you feeling cool and comfortable. It's a little piece of fabric turned into a great idea to benefit a vast number of people.” (Secretary Humberside Ileostomy and Internal Pouch Group)
“ The waistband has meant I can wear nightwear without the need for pants (first time in 15yrs), have an intimate relationship and feel confident in many other aspects of daily living.” (Ostomate)
“ I have already purchased one of your waistbands and just wish to say how much they relieve the dragging feeling you can get when you have been on your feet a long time so there is not so much pressure on your stoma.” (Ostomate)
Q: Will Comfizz garments restrict the flow of my
stoma?
A: No, Comfizz will provide light support, helping to hold the weight of your
bag as it fills without restricting the flow in any way.
Q: Why is there no fly hole in the boxers?
A: Any opening will present a weak point and the garment will lose its’ support
element. You can stretch the leg opening.
Q: Is there a pocket inside?
A: No, restricting the bag within a pocket can restrict freedom of movement
which this fabric allows.
Q: Will they make me sweat?
A: The fabric is breathable and will allow moisture to escape, leaving you dry
and comfortable.
Q: How long is it safe for me to wear them?
A: All day and can be worn through the night as well to keep bag secure if required.
Q: Will they support my hernia?
A: Can give light support to small hernias, but for strenuous activity or for
larger hernias it is recommended you wear heavier support.
Q: Will the waistband roll up?
A: No if positioned above crease of leg, and correct size is worn. (Too small,
may roll)
Q: Can they be worn for swimming?
A: Yes underneath conventional swimwear. They can help to flatten bulges and
support bag, increasing confidence. The fabric is not chlorine resistant and
regular exposure will shorten garment lifespan.
Q: Can I cut a hole in the front for the bag to come
through?
A: No, any opening will present a weak point and the garment will lose its support
element.
Q: Do I wear them over or under my stoma?
A: All garments are high waisted, designed to sit over the stoma site.
Q: Can I buy more garments if I’ve had my prescription
quota?
A: Yes at www.comfizz.com price boxers and briefs £11.00, waistbands £9.00 plus
